He died today.

I am SOOOOO sorry Cats are VERY good at hiding illness and he was a
senior citizen kitty. It sounds like he lived very well up until the end.
Sometimes I think it is better than a lingering illness, many of which we
see here, but it is never easy. I'm so very sorry

I just wanted to add that I hope Mermaid will share
photos and stories of him with us. When my cat died many people in RL made
me feel odd because I was
grieving "as though I had lost a member of my family." I HAD lost a member
of my family. But many people here understand.
