Cat went in litter box, but didn't cover it up

The cat finally peed in the litter box for the first time, but didn't
bury it. Is that strange? It's just sitting on top in a puddle.

Kind of hard for the litter to clump that way. :-)

Nope, not odd. Some cats cover, some don't. (It'll still clump okay, good
enough for scooping it out.)

Be thankful..My recently adopted cat took a while to use the box..instead, she
made on the sheets, the blankets...the floor. Found a wonderful litter, Feline
Pine, that absorbs the smell. Maybe you need to switch litters. Btw, cats have
different ways of using the box..One of my cat never buried...another, spent 5
minutes burying.

I didn't notice any scent before, but it seems like after the cat peed
in it, it activated a pretty strong, perfumey smell.

I'll replace it with unscented tomorrow and see if that helps.

I'll look for it, but I live in a town of 15,000...so it's pretty much
WalMart (soon to be MicroSoftWalMart).
