Hello, Dan! Thank you so much for replying. I am so worried about
this boy. He thought he had a home for nearly two weeks then got
returned just because he had a cold.

Your offer to go and get him means the world to those of us who
have become moved by his plight. (I understand that you do not
have room to foster him.) We know that he is okay until
at least June 29th--if the shelter manager Katherine Wilson
was being honest with me and I have no reason to think she
would be otherwise. That is when he is to be "re-evaluated"
whatever that means!

This gives me time to find him a local home. Could be that
someone will just walk in to the shelter and want him! If so,
all will be solved. They will get a nice surprise once they
express interest in him because the shelter staff will tell
them his adoption fee is paid! (It is likely he will get a
home since he is already neutered and given his shots, and
apparently not all animals there are.)

If worse comes to worse and I cannot find him a local home,
I may take you up on your offer to try to get him into the
Redlands Humane Society shelter--just long enough to give
me time to find him a local home. I am prepared to fly him
here to North Carolina if need be--the trouble with that is,
my husband really does not want another cat and I have to
travel often enough that he would have to take care of him.
And--we have two girl cats--one elderly with a heart condition
and a thyroid condition and one who is just a major scaredy
cat! The other problem with flying him here is that the trip
would be hard on him. And I am not sure if they would allow
you to put him on the plane and have him fly unaccompanied.
I could pay for a first class ticket for him but he has got
to ride in the cabin and not in cargo. There is a service
called Sky Ark that transports rescues via plane or bus,
so they are a possibility.

Thank you for your cell phone number! I feel sure that
there will be adequate notice that I can email you and
give you a comfortable notice.

If he is taken at the Redlands Humane Society even
temporarily, I will make a nice donation to thank them.

You are just a gem. Thank you so much. I will send you
updates on his status, and many people will sleep better
knowing that we have you there to snatch him from the jaws
of death if need be. (I love your sig, by the way!)

Mary
