You are all so very nice!!!!! As much as I want him in a forever home--I'm
so nervous about sending him so far to a place I haven't seen... Do you
know anyone who ever worked with them or lives near Lansing Michigan & might
want to visit??? I have looked at flying with him in cabin but worry about
security making me take him out of carrier which I know I wouldn't be able
to do without him becoming totally freaked (he won't come out of carrier for
anything at the vett!) Do you know the name of the pet transport
company--was it by air (I worry about putting animals in cargo holds!)

Sorry for confusion--when I looked at how I typed it, I could see the
problem. I am still looking for a place. There is a shelter in Michigan
that would take him (Cat Tails Farm (formerly Gaia Sanctuary)-south of
Lansing. I'm in NY & that's a long way for the little guy,Big Boy. to
travel. I'm going day to day with him; he really doesn't like all the
confinement but I have to think about my other guys as well.....

I am currently looking for home for FelV+ stray, Big Boy, (about which I
posted before). I have other cats who cannot be exposed to him so he is
isolated. I get very conflicting info about one thing: I would be able

to
let him loose in my bedroom (instead of the attached bath & large dog

kennel
I bring him out into the bedroom with) but have been told that after he

left
I would have to quarantine that room for 30-60 days no matter how well I
cleaned it... Does anyone have thoughts on this or previous

experiences.

Laura, Thank you very much for your offer... Right now, I feel a little
funny about sending Big Boy someplace I've never seen. Do you know anyone
who might have been there or worked with them?

Chris, I live in NY and am from Michigan. If I get a trip home
anytime soon, I might be able to bring the little guy as carry-on...

Do you know the name of the pet transport
company--was it by air (I worry about putting animals in cargo holds!)

I don't remember the name of the company but Megan or someone will. It was not
by plane, it was truck but the people were exceptionally nice, if I recall.
This is an actual business so they put the pet's safety and comfort foremost.
Does this place have a website that is willing to take him? How about checking
them out with the BBB in Lansing? I know that here in Phoenix, you can check
places out online with the BBB. Maybe you can find another place that would
take him that we could transport him to. How about that Best Friends Sanctuary
in Utah, have you contacted them? They might have an idea for you if they
can't take him themselves. We can probably arrange the transport anywhere in
the US. NY to Michigan isn't really all that long of a trip, though. I agree,
though, that you should check the place out thoroughly before sending him
there. We just wanted to give you a little hope that there can probably be a
solution to your problem. Sometimes it can make you feel like a problem is
less insurmountable if you know some other people will help a little.

I really appreciate the support--its getting tougher here every day! I'll
check BBB as suggested. I had contacted Best Friends but they just gave me
links to other sites....
