I don't get it, what does Hemmingway have to do with extra cat toes? Ernest Hemingway brought back a six toed cat from one of his travels. From that cat there came a huge number of progeny in the Keys in Fl. They are known as Hemmingway cats because he basically began the population. Check this out: http://www.hemingwayhome.com/HTML/our_cats.htm The colony that still lives at the house are well taken care of. |

Cute! I brought home a little street urchin the other day, and got him an
excellent home. He left last night sniff. His name is Ernie, for Earnest Cutie pie! Thanks! He sure is. But his new owner is going to have to be awfully diligent about clipping. Poor little thing has many claws that just don't retract, and he had a devil of a time with hanging them on carpet, bedspreads, etc. I clipped him and he seemed okay after that. He had six toes on one foot and seven on the other; back ones were normal. Sherry |

Next time we get a polydactyl cat at the shelter, I'm naming him Ernest. -- -Kelly kelly at farringtons dot net Check out www.snittens.com |
