They are appreciated!

Here's the latest on the fires: the Pass fire (in Reche Canyon) is out.
The Grand Prix fire is out of control.

A mandatory evacuation order was issued for the community of Lytle Creek
yesterday afternoon, with similar orders for portions of Rancho
Cucamonga, Fontana, and Etiwanda this morning. Parts of Interstate 15
and state route 210 have been shut down, as the fire has jumped both
freeways. On the way in to work this moring on Interstat 10, there were
stretches where visibility was greatly impaired by smoke and ash, so I
expect to see Interstate 10 closed some time today. When I got to the
office in Upland this morning (about 10 miles from the fire) it looked
like the early stage of snow storm, the ash was falling so heavily.

The kitties, humans, and other animals affected by this awful fire still
need lots and lots of purrs.

Dan,

Lots of cooling, fire controlling purrs coming from my house. Fire is
terribly frightening. I have a picture somewhere on my harddrive that
was taken several years ago by a firefighter on the west coast during
one of the fires. Some of you may remember it - it was of an elk in a
creekbed with fire all around. A very moving photograph..

Purrs and prayers, headed out your way.
