Snipped amazing story of horrendous family

Pam S. still disgusted after all these years

There's not a lot you can say to that Pam, except, "WOW"....and not in a
good sense!

{{{{BIG HUGS}}}} for a wonderful holiday season with your *proper*
family, who may well NOT be DNA related!

You certainly aren't.

My ex-mother, the Psycho Death Bitch From Hell, is the closest thing to
pure evil I have ever met. I could rant for hours about the dreadful
things she's done. However, I'll limit myself to one vignette, in which
I was not actually involved.

My gran, that's my father's mother, died twenty years ago, when I was
fifteen. PDBFH wrote to my grandad, the grieving widower. Did she
express her condolences? Did she arse. She said that she was glad Gran
was dead, as maybe now her marriage would stand a chance.

There's plenty more, and that's why she will never see my children.

Hey people living in Wales. Rob and I have been invited over there by
a member of our usenet cancer group for a visit this summer. We're
actually thinking about it, if she isn't joking. Anyone interested in
two mean and crotchety old Merkans this summer?

Well I'm in London, and you'd be most welcome. London's not that far
from Wales. It's only about ---------------------- this far on a
small map.

Pam S. who misses snow, to some extent and would love to live in a place
where sanity is the norm.

Is there such a place any more?

yes, and I live here... Michigan's Upper Peninsula. crime (especially
violent crime) is low, cost of living is generally low, I think, and
people just don't get too bent out of shape about anything most of the
time. it's almost as though the rest of the world (politics, current
events, etc) doesn't matter too much unless you want it to.

you want snow? we have that, too. G Ironwood (eastern end of the
UP) got around two feet of it in probably 24-ish hours earlier this
week. that's not really the norm, just what happens in an especially
snowy part of the snow belt that runs along Lake Superior's south
shore. once you get inland and closer to Wisconsin, the snow lets up
a bit, but winter temps tend to be lower. hardly ever gets below 0F
where I am.

I live in the Keweenaw Peninsula, which is the "rabbit ear" that
sticks up into Lake Superior. I believe our average annual snowfall
is around 180" (much lower than Ironwood's, I would think). last
year, we got very near our average, but somewhat annoyingly, at least
95% of it came in January. I shoveled my roof off last February
shortly after the county snowblower moved the curbside snow up into my
yard, which is 3-4 feet above street level, and this was the result:

bring your snow tires!

Pam, I really wish I could oblige, but all your post did (except wanting

want us to adopt you? )

Will you adopt me too??? Please? Pretty please?

Why, certainly, Helen, though I think your own family is a pretty good
one. ;o)

LOL! When I was a kid, we lived in a house where my Dad would shovel up
a big pile of snow against a north-facing wall. We would lay bets on
when the snow would have melted. I remember one year it lasted until
Midsummer.

How did they respond to her complaint? (Please don't tell me they tried
to intervene...)

Unfortunately, they told her what she COULD turn me in for. Every
December (Christmas), May (Mother's day), and September (my birthday)
after that, I could count on CPS to be at my door to investigate
reported Child neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse,
parental insanity, parental paranoia, parental mental illness, and
whatever else she could dream up.

The worst part of all this is that Washington State NEVER expunges their
abuse complaint records. Even when proven wrong, the state will never
take my name out of their files of potential child abusers. Somedays I
want to cry.

As of February, I am free from all fear that she'll find me and turn me
into CPS for something else. Mandy turns 18, and will be a legal adult.
Now, watch the skank try to turn me in for providing drugs and alcohol
or something equally nasty to Mandy.

That is just too bizarre for words. How incredibly mortifying that must
have been, that your sister's kids would know about your sex life (or lack
thereof). I don't know how old they were when they did this, but if they
were fairly young, I would say that your *sister* should be the one to be
visited by CPS!

The kids were 11, 13, and 15 at the time. I have even offered to go up
in a comparison psych eval with the woman, but the state where I
volunteered this said that, no matter how tempting, they couldn't allow
dueling psychos.

I am so sorry you have had to go through all this. I can't even begin
to imagine. I'm glad soon you (hopefully) won't have to put up with
this awful person anymore.

wow, man alive. almost half the snow I shovel off my roof ends up in
my back yard (north side of the house), but it doesn't hang around
quite that long. g on the other hand, it melts and seeps through my
foundation into my basement and garage, but that's another story (and
not a very interesting one unless you're the one who's gotta save
money to have it fixed).

we had snow piles around town for quite a while one year when we got
over 300" (within a foot of the local record). I think they "only"
lasted until early June--not quite midsummer, but then, they were all
over, not just on the north sides of things. temps in the
70s(F)/20s(C), and the stuff just wouldn't go away because there was
so much of it.

You aren't Pam's neice are you by any chance? Her ex-sister and your
ex-mother sound like they were taken out of the same mould.

I'm really sorry that you ever had to have anythign to do with her.

And wow, look at you, despite having the PDBFH of an ex-mother, you still
turned out to be a loving, kind, and gentle person. Be very very proud of
yourself.
