LOLOL I actually like the way he has "Ah HA!" moments. I tend to do that
myself. Not about Athletes foot or medical miracles, of course But
sometimes it takes a while before an Ah HA! moment comes to me. (Often in
my sleep, as a matter of fact.)

I remember a specific episode where he had a man as a patient and they
couldn't figure out what was making him sick. He'd get sick every time he
ate. He was admitted, and he'd only been eating hospital food. But he
still got sick. Suddenly Dr. House realized he had an allergy to GOLD. His
wife was putting gold in his food. They cornered her in the bathroom before
she could wash her hands. Dr. House happened to have some miracle powder
he'd gotten as a kid living in the Sudan or some such place. He put it on
her hands before she could wash them. Ah Ha! Gold!

Okay, it's corny. It's also amusing. I mean really, have you ever had a
doctor send a "team" to search your house for drugs and toxic substances?
Discover pidgeon poop from the roof was contaminating your water supply? In
what world does this happen? But it's funny, and it works as a TV show.

Right. I enjoy the show because it's entertaining. I think the
implausibility is one of the things that makes it entertaining.

How do you know? Good looks may not be the primary requirement for
real-life crime experts, but there's no law that they CAN'T be
"beautiful" is there? (But of course, as the victims, we'd be past
caring, anyway. ;-))

Fine on bad doctor but none of the characters are half believable on
this show. It is LCD television [lowest common denominator]. Just
enough writting effort so every viewer does not bail but not a bit
more.

And of course, they NEVER have a patient with any simple, everyday
ailment!

LOL! You're right, he does always come up with the miracle diagnosis at
the last minute, doesn't he? Not the kind of doctor I'd choose to
consult. But they're a clinic, aren't they? Maybe the patient has to
take whoever he/she can get.

I try to think of it as finding something in the last place you look.
You are going to quit looking then, right?

They do sometimes throw into the mix that they find the correct
diagnosis early on, but then get confused by other things.

One of the shows 'things' is that the doctors have little or no
family, and for the most part their patients have little or no family
either. The people they treat are as screwed up as they are.

Makes you wonder about the writers a bit.

LOL!! Except he never says that right away. You have to wait through a
set of commercials first.
