This man had apparently been blabbing in a bar about how he wanted to hire
someone to kill his wife. Someone alerted the police and the police called
the FBI. They sent someone in to act as a "hit man". The man was arrested
for conspiracy to commit murder.

http://www.4029tv.com/news/20469952/detail.html

And yes, before anyone asks, everyone in town (including John) said he was
"such a nice guy". As I recall, people said the same thing about Ted Bundy.
This man was a firefighter and reserve police officer. What part of
'protect and serve' didn't he understand? Oh, the part where it says except
it's okay to hire someone to kill your wife. Sheesh.

I don't know what is more shocking, how often this sort of thing
happens, or how often it happens given people are dealing with
strangers willing to kill.

From as many of these stories as I've seen over the years (we had a
local one a few months ago) you will more likely than not ending up
making your deal with a law enforcement officer. Guess there just
aren't all that many killers for hire wandering about as psycho
spouses think.

Everything else aside, what makes someone who is unwilling or unable
to do their own dirty work think makes them capable of dealing with
someone who will do it for cash?

Idiots, the world is full of idiots.

They were already in the process of getting a divorce. Apparently there was
a heated custody dispute over their kids so this guy figured why not just
have her whacked? I guess we know who is going to get custody now, don't
we?

Who knows. At least now he will be in the right place to meet a
reliable hit man.

You ever meet anyone that was rehabilitated in prison? My brother learned
more crap like that in the 18 months he spent in jail that he did on the
street or in school. Yes, it is sick but, probably true.

Nope, I haven't. I used to watch the HBO series OZ, and that was very eye
opening about the prison system and the prisoners. as well. I can't stomach
it any more.
It seems the world in general is getting sicker, wronger, and scarier
Sad, isn't it?. Kyla
