As we all know, cats who like each other like to groom each other. Basho
and Issa really love each other, so they groom one another all the time.
Today was Revolution day, so they all got dosed with the nasty stuff on
the back of heir heads, where they can't reach with their tongues.
You know where this is going, don't you?
I caught Basho happily (?) licking the medication off of his brother's
neck. He knew he wasn't supposed to do that, because when I yelled at
him, he gave his "but I'm really innocent and I didn't do this thing you
think I did" look.
Such sweet boys.

Eugh, doesn't it taste bad? Maybe if you love your brother enough, it
doesn't matter.

I was just thinking that I haven't seen Mir and Caliban cuddle for a
long time. They're always sleeping in separate places these days. Maybe
when it gets colder, they will start to cuddle again. I hope so.

I don't know what is in that stuff. I can't smell it, but the fur kids sure
can. And I've got it on my hands more than once and it doesn't burn or
anything.

However, if you use a syringe to measure out doses for multiple pets, it
will take the markings for the measurements off the syringe if you don't
rinse it quickly. And it will not only take off nail polish, it will eat
into acrylic nails.

I think weather has a lot to do with it. Theses days
Cendrillon spends a lot of her time curled up in the
bathroom washbasin, and Melisande likes the tiled area by
the front door. (Although that's partly because she lives
in hopes of my opening the door without shooing her away
from it, first - she's my escape artist.) With weeks and
weeks of temperatures in three digits (Fahrenheit), they
can't be blamed for seeking cool spots - even though central
air-conditioning and celing fans in every room keep the
indoors quite comfortable.

I think I would hesitate to use it on a pet, in that case!
(Fortunately, my girls don't go out, and so far I've seen no
evidence of fleas getting in, so I don't need to use flea
remedies.)

It is much safer and easier on them than the alternative. We only treat for
fleas during flea season. Dogs seem able to swap fleas through fences and
for miles around. It they one it, it will promptly transfer to the nearest
cat and begin to chew and reproduce.

Even if no pets ever go out, during a really bad flea season you can bring
the eggs in on your clothing. It only takes one.

(Aren't fleas one of those horrible creatures that are born pregnant?)

The funny thing is, Miranda will cuddle under the blanket with me if I
take a nap during the day. When I get up, she will stay curled up under
the blanket for many hours, no matter how warm the weather. I would
think that's hotter than cuddling up with Caliban!
