At first it was a small red looking ball, which is now the size of a golfball - and that was just two days. I have been looking all over for information on what this might be, and I need to know ASAP because my parents are taking him to the vet tomorrow and possibly putting him to sleep!!!!! I need to save my cat, please help if you know what this may be. Please!!!!!!! My kitten had the same thing a couple of months ago. Scared the hell out of me at first, but it was just a prolapsed rectum. The vet did some stitching to hold the rectum in and let it heal. She's fine now. She never seemed to notice it at all. There's no reason to euthanize because of this. It's very fixable. Hope Kristy will give us an update. I'm worried about this cat. |

sorry, I havent responded. Thanks for your advice. It did help point out
the problem, however, he did have to be put to sleep. The vet said she had never seen one that bad before - the prolapse was a rectal prolapse - in two days it had grown as big as a baseball. She said the chances of him recovering after the surgery were minimal and unfortunately, euthanizing him was most humane in his case. I am terribly heartbroken and will miss him greatly. That would have worried me alot too. Poor kitty. |
