Need Innova Web Site

Going to switch my two older cats from Science Diet and try Innova after
reading posts about this product.
I have been searching the web site for Innova but coming up with nothing
but dealers who sell it.
Found only one dealer in my area -Detroit- who carries Innova but would
like to know all the line of Innova feline dry food for seniors before
we go to the store Sunday.
Does any one have a link they could post or e-mail me- which I prefer-

What specifically concerns you about Science Diet?

Hi Tonya,
If you are near a Good Food Company, they usually carry Innova. Also,
have you checked Pet Supplies Plus? I believe they may carry it too.
I think the Naturapet website has a store locator on it. Good luck in
finding it. I would recommend a slow switch though once you do. Try
adding a small amount of the new food to the old, then gradually add
more and more new food. This will help your kitties adapt to the more
nutrient dense food.

Be aware that Innova contains a *lot* of ingredients and that your cats
*may* not agree with it.

I have some experience with this food. I had one cat consuming it whose
stools were horribly stinky, yet with the other there was hardly a
difference. Of course, the other cat cannot consume canned food without
a chronic diarrhea problem.

The same company produces "California Natural" which is also worthy your
consideration. It is a much simpler formula.

Oh BTW, I switched mine from California Natural (same company as Innova)
to Science Diet. They are doing well. I liked the nutrient numbers on
the Science Diet better.

Innova is an excellent food; in fact, they've just come out with EVO, a new
food which is completely grain-free.

Innova does contain herring, which may not agree with all cats. Herring
gives one of my cats gas and loose stool. For this reason, I do not feed
Innova exclusively, but he is fine eating Innova canned a few times a week.

When I used the merchant locater on Innova's website, it only showed one
store in my city who carries it, when in actuality there are three. This
leads me to believe that their merchant locater is not up-to-date. Check
with your local feed stores to see if they carry it.

Some of the "ingredient descriptions" are biased. There is no
discussion about nutrition or nutrient content. This is more of the
"same old, same old". Anyone who is going to buy a food based SOLELY
on the ingredient label is going to be led astray by said ingredient
label. Nutrition should be what is most important....not how we "feel"
about a particular ingredient.

The most glaring example of this is: "corn is considered be a major
allergen". Corn is NOT a major allergen for cats and cats that are
allergic to corn are practically non-existent.
