Default Weird smells

Nasty weird smells can come from other things too. Years ago, during
summer months, I noticed a nasty smell every evening on my front patio.
I hunted and looked everywhere for several weeks with no success.
Finally, It occurred to me that it only came in the evening when the
patio lights were on. To make the story short, I finally traced it to a
light socket. Whenever it got warm the nasty smell occurred. I had the
light socket changed and the odor disappeared. The same thing occurred
some years later when I had a hanging lamp placed above my sewing
machine. Long story about that, I thought visitors had BO but when
traced to the lamp and got rid of it, the odor was gone. Poor cat had
been blamed for hiding stuff. MLB

Not from the bulb -- from the socket the bulb screwed into. They are nade of plastic with a metal core. The plastic apparently became stinky when heated.

some of that plastic was probably made with fish oil. Not American
made. MLB
