We're back! The cats are exhausted from the trip and have been sleeping
for hours (after they'd checked that everything was in its place here at
home). I'm pretty knackered myself, but here are some pictures to start
with. I'll write more about our time on the island after I've had some
sleep.

But as CN and I are/will be happy to tell you, Bandit's a WONDERFUL name
for a cat!

the island, I was hoping that he would lose a little weight on the
island, what with getting more exercise. Haha! Caliban proved to be an
absolutely shameless food smooch. He would go into the other houses and
eat the other cats' food virtually under their noses. Kasper and Emil
just let him do it, but if Linus or Ronja caught him eating *their*
food, they chased Caliban off *their* property. But I blame the hoomins,
too. They all said they would chase Caliban away if they saw him at one
of their food bowls, but knowing Caliban, and having seen how he charmed
everyone, I suspect they let him eat some before they chased him off.
Caliban even went into my brother's tent to see if he could mooch some
food there!

One time Rusty stayed with my friend and her cat while I was out of
town. He finished his
food and ate the other cat's food too. But he didn't put on weight. At
home he is never a hearty eater. The vet said that's was social eating.
There is a Chinese saying that you
won't get fat when you eat alone. Maybe there's some truth in it.

That's so cuuute! What a little ham he is! Or a big ham. Do you
remember when his foster said that he looked like he had an oriental
body type?

When I saw the picture of Caliban on the jetty, for a moment, I saw
Frank.

What wonderful photos! The kids seemed to be having a wonderful time,
enjoying what cats were meant to enjoy in an ideal world (which is what
the island seems to be, from a feline perspective). My favorites so
far are the greebling-hunt series, but I'm only about halfway through
viewing the whole set, so we'll see.

Welcome back! How's the weather in your corner of the world?

I'm surprised the greeblings would have the audacity to invade the
island with such dedicated hunters there to get 'em. Your two are
precious, especially in the "in a bag" and the "washing" pictures. They
seem so happy to be together.

And F&N have a wonderful view from their resting place.

Haha! Yes, that was a very good sales pitch. ;o) He had that tummy as a
kitten when he came to me, and he never went through that skinny phase
most kittens go through in their teens. He's just built with a proper
tummy.

I know. It's funny how the boys like to hang out on the jetty, but the
girls don't. Nikki hardly ever came out there with me, and I don't think
Miranda set foot on it once. It didn't take much to coax Cali-cali out
there, and Emil liked to hang out there too, watching the swallows. In
fact, we were sure that one or the other of the boys would end up in the
water, since they would both hang over the side or look like they would
jump after a swallow who flew out over the water.
