Default getting in to 'Mischief'

I got this new warmup suit from my parents last Christmas but the
pants were way too long, so I never wore it. Tonight I finally
decided to hem the damn thing so I can use it.

So I'm sitting on the floor with the pants on the floor and I'm
starting to hem it with dark thread. By now Imp and Mischief are
hovering nearby, curious as to what I'm doing. Imp is watching my
every move. Mischief is watching my every move, but more interested
in the movement of the thread.

She watches and it gets looooooong and suddenly pulls away, then gets
loooong and then pulls away again. It's like she's mesmerized. It
keeps getting looooooooong and then pulls away. So the next time it
gets loooooong on my next stitch.....

POUNCE!!!!!!!

"Missy!!! Stop that, you silly cat."

So she backs off. But still the thread gets looooong and drags on the
carpet with every stitch. I can see every muscle is tensed.
Meanwhile I'm trying to make the stitches reasonably even when....

POUNCE!!!!

"Get outta here!!"

She did it a few more times the little brat.

Need I say again why I named her "Mischief"?

I just ordered my own set of scrubs for the vet clinic. But the pants
are way too long, so I sat down to start hemming them. Guess who was
hanging around?

First she lies on the floor on top of the pants while I'm trying to
fold and pin them. Then she starts attacking the thread as I'm trying
to thread the needle. Then she whines when she sees she can't get the
thread and goes and lies on another pair of scrub pants I haven't
worked on yet.

*sigh* It was a long evening, but I finally got all the pants hemmed.
