SFAIK,

What's that?

you can only delete a thread if it's one you originated, Kyla.

Um, not true hon. *I use Outlook Express as my newsreader.

You can delete it from YOUR screen, true, but not from the 'net. *Your
post implied that you thought you were removing it from the entire
newsgroup - sorry if I misunderstood. *(I can't imagine even WANTING to
do such a thing, since I value what remains of our "freedom of speech"
too highly to think I have a right to dictate what others should read!)
I still think it's easier to simply scroll past anything I consider
"garbage", since sometimes (given the nature of newsgroups) the tangents
take a turn that rekindles one's interest. *The only filter I ever use
is "mark as read" - then the posts remain, and I can refer back to them
if other posters have something interesting to say on the subject.
(Also, given the nature of newsgroups, some of the subsequent tangents
can prove interesting, even if the original post was not.)

I don't get it. But I've never deleted a thread, or tried to. If Kyla
deleted the thread,
how does she keep posting in it? Can you retrieve it back, after
you've deleted it?

Sherry

it would certainly be logical, I like chocolate but not the sweet kind, I
prefer my hot chocolate when we make it so I can put just a touch of sweet
in it not that syrup taste that pre mix has, Lee

There is some evidence that chronically overweight people have fewer sweet
receptors and a lowered ability to taste sweet foods. They need more
sweets and carbs to be satisfied. I know that I need to add more sugars to
something to get it to taste as good as it smells. Splenda is my friend.

I wouldn't know - I've never met him personally. (Have YOU?)

I dunno, your personality doesn't translate well into Usenet, or does it?
Mine does. I'm a b*tch and everyone knows it.

Funny, because I always just think of you as a kindred spirit.

I don't agree with your definition of yourself Pam. There has to be someone
who can state what others are thinking from time to time.

I don't know what you mean here, Pam. By "your personality doesn't
translate well into Usenet", do you mean "it's hard to tell from your
posts what you're really like", or do you mean, "you don't come across
as a very good person in your posts"?

Evelyn certainly has strong opinions that she's not afraid to post,
but I don't think she comes across as any "worse" than anyone else here.

When people are always gushy sweet and nicey-nice, that's when I'm
suspicious. I always assume that there are important parts of their
personality that I'm not seeing. Because *everyone* has bitchy days!

Joyce

Well, in that case I am a b*tch too. Maybe you are grand poobah of b*tches
(or should that be grandpoohbahess) and I hope one day to be as half as
b*tchy as you.

Yowie ( who can think of *many* words to describe Pam, but b*tch ain't one
of them)

Default Time for a Reposting of our FAQ??? [ EVELYN! Ping jill]

No need to email, it's not that long a story. The muu muu man was an
infamous troll to this group who came on and called everyone a bunch
of muu muu wearing old ladies. However, he accidently left his
signature on one of his posts with a link to a diaper fetish web site
and there were hundreds of pictures of him wearing diapers! There
were lots of ruined keyboards that day! ;

Hugs,
