Once again...the occupant of one of the only 2 dual resident townhomes in
our "neighborhood"...moved out...Leaving behind 3 cats...(Why this happens
when I'm out of town I don't know!...though I figure it's because folks know
I will sic the law on dumpers if I catch them.!)GRRRRRRR...All three are
spayed/neutered...Sadly the male has already disappeared.(we live in a
rather isolated wooded area with a creek running behind us...and running
that creek are coyotes and a bobcat or two.)...The remaining 2 cats are
rather skittish(from what info I have gathered the "human" was rather vocal
when he dumped them out the door)......Wish me luck rounding them up(
sighhhh for the trip to the SPCA) and being the responsible person...If
anyone in the Dallas area want a pretty solid gray cat or a gray with white
spots cat...Shout Out.... :-) Liz

Purrs for you and the kitties. My Nanki-Poo is the sweetest cat in the
world, and he was one that was treated the same way as those were.

Oh those poor cats! I'm pretty sure this is what happened to my darling
Persia. I had no success at all in finding her humans, despite posting
signs and calling vets & shelters. The apartment manager told me most
likely someone had moved out and left her. I do *not* understand this
behaviour.

Oh dear, Liz
Why do people have to be so cruel to helpless creatures? I loathe people
who 'dump' their animals and would gladly help you get them busted if I
could.
Some 'people' can be so mean, harsh and cruel.
PUUUUUUURS and well wishes for your situation.
You are one of the kind ones who cares about the poor kitties.
Bless your kind heart for wanting the best for them.
Hug

I'm so sorry, Liz. Purrs that you get the cats, and thank you for taking
the responsibility.

Alas, I'm nowhere near Dallas. But I hope you find them, Liz. Poor
dears, how frightened and bewildered they must be! Bless you for
taking the responsibility, and dirty litterbox offerings to the
coward who wouldn't take proper responsibility for those poor cats.
The girls are on purr patrol for the sake of those kitties.

Good luck getting them in- they must be terrified!

How can "people" do this to animals who depend on them? (I nearly said
"defenceless animals" but Dunzi just tried to get my attention by
sticking her claw in my knee...)

The famous Hugh has two cats whose former owners (not proper slaves at
all) moved and left them locked inside. As the flat was not due to be
relet for some weeks one can only conclude they locked the cats in to
starve to death. Thankfully after 3 days, a neighbour spotted them
looking out of the window realised they were trapped inside and kicked
the door in to get them out. And even more thankfully when the future
for 2 cats aged 18 months or so wasn't too bright and they should have
gone to a local shelter (not kill but we all know older cats get
overlooked) they ended up at a vet who just happened to have a client
who had just sent his elderly cat over the Bridge who had a devious
flatmate who realised Hugh's protestation that he was going to have no
cats for 8 weeks and would then hit the local shelter for a couple,
young but not kittens would mean he'd probably try and rescue the
entire shelter so he called the vet and said when Hugh collected
Bingo's body "Find him a cat!", they were waiting to be transferred to
a shelter, Hugh went in, the receptionist had the pair of them on the
desk, she said she would be a minute and popped out. came back to find
Hugh issuing skritchies through the carrier door, regaled him with the
sad tale of how they came to be sitting there, apparently she was so
good half the waiting room were in tears (she specialises in matching
cat and slave when Hugh first found Bandit and wasn't sure he could
keep her but he said this lady would find her a good home- Bandit
didn't need that sort of help unknown then to Hugh she'd already
decided his home was hers)

"people" make me sick sometimes

Default Grrrrrrr...Humans! UPDATE

Good news.... I was able to sweet talk the 2 females into the house...they
were promptly hustled to the enclosed porch... I examined them for injuries
found them thin though sound...Both now have hopefully "forever" homes...One
going to a family who recently lost their old kitty....Oreo has settled in
nicely there...Snickers went to a neighbor who already has a spayed female
(Dad wanted a kitty of his own)...we'll see how that works out....I was so
PI**ED to find... upon examining the two kitties... that they both were
declawed front and back!!!!!! GRRRRRRRR!!! A sure death sentence around
here....

A neighborhood kid at the far end of our housing area reports he's seen
strange, large, gray cat slinking around his backyard...hope is resparked
that it may be Getty... the presumed dead male...I will start making spot
checks there hot and heavy starting tomorrow...no prospects for a home for
him so far...I'm worried...bad storms are due tomorrow...... Purrs and good
vibes would be greatly appreciated that it is Getty and I can catch him.....
