Found me!
Well, it seems that I have been adopted by another kitty. Last night
during a very wet rainstorm, I heard howling outside. I went to the door and in strolled this very wet and dirty black and white tuxedo kitten. She looks about 3-4 months old, you know, bigger than a bitty, but not quite teenager size? Very friendly. She let me pick her up and bring her inside, where I dried her off and gave her food (which she ignored). She doesn't look starved or hurt in anyway, and I see no indication of surgery. I'm just making a wild assumption here that she's female. Problem is, Rita HATES her. There's a lot of hissing going on. This is only a one-bedroom apartment, for pete's sake! I've contacted paw-rescue.org to see if they can help. I'd be happy to foster her and get her checked out and spayed, but keeping her is out of the question. I'm allergic, and one cat is bad enough in this small apartment. She's friendly and adorable, so she should be easy to find a home for. Meanwhile, I guess Rita will just have to put up with her for now. I've named her Emily, and will post pictures when I get some. Jane - owned and operated by Princess Rita (and Emily!) |

It's no good resisting, Jane. You now have another cat.
This is how it always happens.. ;-) Tweed "Jane" wrote in message ... Well, it seems that I have been adopted by another kitty. Last night during a very wet rainstorm, I heard howling outside. If she wasn't hungry and was generally in good shape, it could be that she's someones pet and she sneaked out by mistake. There's a cat called Basil, who lives 3 doors down and is a much loved pet. He also looks like he's been dragged through a hedge and tries to crack on he's a poor starving waif of a stray. (He's not). When i first moved in, i was fooled, until I tied a note to his neck and his mom was around post haste to say that it was his M.O. to crack on he was dying of hunger and was unloved. Welcome to the new addition, any road. ;o) Helen m -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG |

Jane wrote: Well, it seems that I have been adopted by another kitty. good luck in finding Kitty's home. If she hasn't got one, well, it took Nox a good month to stop hissing at Smokey, and she'll still hiss if he's within ten inches of her.. 3+ years later....but a truce of sorts has been reached. I think 2 cats in a 1 bedroom apartment is okay...we've got 4 in a 2-bedroom. As for allergies though, I foresee you spending quality time with your vaccuum cleaner. --Fil |

Miranda hissed at Caliban for a week, then they started playing together, then they started sleeping and cuddling together. Emily has been renamed Stormy - because she was found in a storm. It seems to fit. Thursday morning my dentist's receptionist (a lovely young woman) called to remind me of my saturday appt. No problem. Then she asked, 'I've been looking for a kitten. Do you know anyone who has a kitten?' Ah-ha! NOW I know why Stormy came to find me. She needed to be taken to her new home! As for having a home in the complex...I suppose it's a possibility, but I've seen this kitten and a sibling around several times. I suspect they have been tossed. They are just past that 'cute kitten stage', which is prime time for tossing. So I'm going to try and get her into my vet this evening for a quickie checkup, and she's going north with me on Saturday for her onetruehome. She'll be living with another cat and a d*g, so she won't be lonely, and her staff knows quite well how to care for rulers of the feline variety. Pictures are on www.picturetrail.com, member ladyjaneinmd, album Stormy. Jane - owned and operated by Rita (and used as transport by Stormy) |
