Boyfie went out this morning and came back with a collared dove which he
left on the doormat for my dinner, since he'd ruined mine on Tuesday.

It's a long time since he caught one, he used to bring them for KFC.
He couldn't resist just eating the head (sorry, a bit gross) but the rest
was mine ;-)
I *could* eat it, but it's hardly worth plucking and gutting. The thought
is appreciated, though, gotta love the Boy. Who is well fed (OMG did that
post sting me that suggested he was half-starved)

It's so nice to get gifts but I'll pass on this one just the same.

I'm pretty sure that was intended as a joke.

Oh, I'm sure she was only kidding! She was saying it from Boyfie's point
of view, because *he* considers himself to be a starving cat, the poor baby.

Who ever thought up the word "Mammogram"? Every time I hear it, I think
I'm supposed to put my breast in an envelope and send it to someone.

Gross as it is, it's really sweet of him. I didn't even think cats could
remember something that long.

I think so too, but, you know, it is easy to misunderstand if you don't make
it clear by typing joke
Yes, Boyfie does think he's starving if his tea is an hour late so therefore
it's Ok to help himself. I shouldn't have left it there on the top of the
cooker, what's a cat to do?
Usually if I cook ahead for the same day I put it in the oven (off) or
microwave (off) as storage devices. I didn't.

He probably didn't, tbh, I just like to think that because he is such a
wonderful boy and he loves me SO much.
What probably happened is that he was coming home through the garden and a
collared dove was there on the ground, couldn't take off into the air in
time (they are slow at this) and he executed his "see me get a bird"
technique as he only has to jump a few feet to get one.

TBH, it must have almost jumped into his mouth and gets the Darwin award for
not avoiding an 11 year old cat that was probably just wandering home.
However, let's not pretend that Boyfie is not a great hunter.
