Default Chocolate cat getting annoying

This new cat in the neighbourhood, I call him Chocolate because that's the
colour he is all over, is getting really annoying. He comes to the house
every day and every night. He sits on the patio in front of the window and
meows his fool head off.
Vino will come running up and sit there staring out at him and he will shut
up. But Vino gets bored and leaves, and he starts up the meowing again!
Vino can hardly be bothered to even look at him anymore, so he's not near
the window that much. So Chocolate meows on and on and on...
He even did it last night while Vino and I were trying to sleep. Vino never
even budged out of bed. I kept hoping he would stop but must have fallen
asleep anyhow. It seems like this guy is obsessed with Vino and cries for
him. How bizarre. I mean, yeah, Vino is handsome and probably a real
hottie in the cat world, but still...;-)
He seems well fed, although like all the local cats, he could stand to gain
a pound or 2. Might just be that they are Siamese influenced and have that
skinny body type. I think he belongs to some neighbours but I can't be sure
which ones. Over 200 houses in this subdivision, close together. Aaargh!

Scared to open the door in fear that he might dash inside and never leave

Here's a picture of a "scarecrow" motion-activated sprinkler. It detects
motion and turns on a sprinkler aimed toward the intruder. The area of
coverage can be set by the user. This might convince Chocolate to stay away
from your yard, and it would not hurt him.

Have you done any checkimg to make sure he isn't lost? He probably is
asking you to adopt him.

Any possibility of having him join your household? Sounds like he's
trying to invite himself.

Are you sure "Chocolate" is a "he"? Sounds more like a smitten
(unaltered) female!

No, he's definitely a he. Unaltered, yes, female, no.

Oh, for sure he's trying to invite himself. Many cats in the neighbourhood
have tried this. But there's no way we can do that. We still haven't even
figured out how we are going to get Vino into Australia when we leave
Thailand. Too big of a problem to do it with 2 cats...or even more because
where will it end?

Hmmmm. If Vino has gotten so mellow about it, maybe he's trying to
tell you he wants a little brother? ;-)
