Default Boyfriend obeys his meowmie

I got home from work at 4.30 and the boy insists he must have his Whiskas
pouch immediately.
Which he had, and went out after he'd eaten it - he always does.
He came in with a tiny rattie a few minutes later and presented it to me,
with that meow that says "prey"
I praised him to the skies for that, and he got on to the arm of my chair
for a cuddle for it. Which he got.
Then I said, jokingly, "now go out and get another one"
So he did.
Within ten minutes he was back with another one.
He is not brave with the big rats, but as I always say, a little one doesn't
grow into a big one ;-)
2 by 5.10 pm.

It's so useful, as rats are always a problem if you keep poultry.

Since he listens so well, tell him to go find a kitty who needs a good
home...

He is welcome to find one and bring it home, like KFC did for him.
She would *never* allow a cat in her garden, until she saw him - and then
she brought him home.
He was, of course, far too scared to actually come into the house for quite
a while.

Thing is that he seemed to know what I said! I know it's not possible that
he did but he has never caught two ratties in such quick succession ever.
It's just a coincidence that I said "get me another one" I know - but I
prefer to think he's an Einstein of a cat, which of course he is ;-)

He has certainly turned my mind around about the intelligence of cats.

Although he is always desperate for his breakfast - and I am well aware he
is waiting outside my bedroom, he always allows the alarm clock to "snooze"
twice before he starts to meow about me getting up.
He is such a polite boy ;-)

you don't have proof he didn't understand and you have circumstancial
evidince he did, sooo, beleive what makes you most comfortable... one of the
most often phrases used in our house is" and can't understand english can
they???" usually after DH or i make a statement like its bed time and they
go toward the bedroom, or stop that you know better, and tiger stops and
begins a long explanation as to why we want him NOT to do he should be
doing, Lee

My heart says he understood, my head says it was pure coincidence.

Your head is wrong. I can say "I have to go work when the alarm goes off
and they all run for breakfast. Is I say "No work today when it goes off"
even if I get up to go to the bathroom, they all stay on the bed.

Oh, are you lucky! Mine get me up the same every morning no matter - work
or no work - and we're talking somewhere in the 4am-5am timeframe.
