Fire purrs, please
Last month we had a big fire in the Running Springs area (about 5 miles
northeast of Highland. Today we have big fires in Reche Canyon (about 5 miles southwest) and Fontana (about 10 miles northwest). The Reche Canyon fire has destroyed 6 homes so foar, and is endangering over 100 more. It also has resulted in closure of roads in the city of Moreno Valley, which it is burning towards. The Fontana fire has consumed over 1000 acres and is nowhere near contained. Fortunately it is not threatening any homes. Neither of these fires is threatening Highland. Purrs would be appreciated for the animals (cats and otherwise) being impacted by the fire, for the firefighters risking there lives to contain the fires, and for the humans being displaced by the flames. This heat wave is supposed to stick around for about ten days. So purrs are double needed. rrb |

Purrs on their way. Although you didn't indicate, judging by the fact
that I recognized several place names, combined with the fact that I know that as of last night there were at least four fires raging, I am guessing that you are in Southern California. -- Joy Owned and operated by Lindy and Skeeter "Dan Mahoney" wrote in message ... Um, didn't you mean east? I'm about 40 miles west of LA.
-- Joy Normal is in the eye of the beholder. -- Whoopie Goldberg "Dan Mahoney" wrote in message ... Yep. We're about 50 miles west of LA. The fact that the temps have been well over 100F for the last few days and are expected to be over 100F today don't help the fire situation much! Yoj wrote: Purrs on their way.
