I'm hoping that there's a mistake in the reported weight. I saw the
picture when the story first came out and my reaction was that there was no way the cat in the picture weighs 41 lbs based on pictures I've seen of other overweight cats. It's hard to judge from the picture, though. I'm hoping that there's a mistake in the reported weight. It's hard to judge from the picture, though. There was another photo when this story first came out that I found on google news. A woman was holding the cat against her body, stomach facing the camera. It was unbelievably huge, and in tthat photo, looked every ounce of 41 pounds. Sherry |

Sorry to follow up my own post, but I went digging and found that photo, if the
link still works. You can really tell how big he is in this one. http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/...222508291.html Sherry |

Oh my, I had seen the other picture and didn't think he looked bad,
but that belly is HUGE -- Steve Touchstone, I've never seen a cat that wide, even in a photo. Still, he reminds me so much of my old cat Cherokee. He was overweight too, but only about 25 lbs. I wish a had a better pic of him, but he died before I got a digital camera. I think that's why this cat's plight disturbs me so much. http://members.aol.com/sriddles/cherokeesherry.jpg http://members.aol.com/sriddles/cherokee.jpg Sherry |
