You may recall when he met the man who sent him to his post out west... the guy folded his orders up into a tiny ball then gave a wierd salute. And a few minutes later he was standing at the window saying "The King is dead; long live the king" before blowing his brains out. Totally whacked. John kept doing that funny salute when I said something nutso. He cracks me up. We still can't figure out why Costner put that scene in the movie. Jill I still can't figure out why he made "Waterworld" :P I remember when that movie came out, I met my brother for lunch-- I sat down across from him in the restaurant, and just said one word: "Waterworld." He cracked up, and we both giggled like idiots for awhile. Speaking of Costner, I watched "Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves" laat week, and that is one of the most schizo experiences I've ever had watching a movie. Costner's flat-voiced, Valley Boy, mullet-headed Robin Hood is pure agony, while Alan Rickman's insane Sheriff of Nottingham is pure joy. That movie was when I fell in love with Rickman. I don't "get" Costner, either. I never saw Waterworld or the other films but even in 'The Bodyguard' his monotone delivery just left me flat. It worked okay in 'Dances with Wolves' when he was allegedly reading from a diary. But come on, put some life into it when you're suppose to be acting! Give me Mel Gibson any time! Jill Oh dear God, I don't get Mel either-- I don't want to risk going too far into his religion or politics here. But back in the -80s, I absolutely adored him. He was absolutely beautiful, and so obviously bright and talented. Theresa Stinky Pictures: http://community.webshots.com/album/125591586JWEFwh My Blog: http://www.humanitas.blogspot.com |

Bev had some very interesting things to say about
The King is Dead ...........: It was a terrible fight - the screams were enough to curdle your blood. When I got to the battle scene Clyde and Deo were nose to nose. Clyde wasn't peeing with fright or fleeing. He was there for the long haul - this was his patch and be damned if he was going give way. Around the pair were tufts of Deo hair. Clyde had a mouthful of Deo hair that he was trying to spit out between his bouts of ferocious howling and growling. I stood and watched, I wasn't needed. Deo went backwards - Clyde went forward, jaw to jaw, eyeball to eyeball - then Deo turned and fled. Clyde didn't bother to chase him. He stood there and practically beat his chest. FSP and Bonnie were watching from the safety of the window sill, you could feel their admiration. I have to admit Clyde looked enormous, with his tail expanded to twice the size and every hair on his body fluffed up. I picked him up, he was still growling. The king is dead - long live the king. GOOD BOY!!!!! -- "The universe is quite robust in design and appears to be doing just fine on its own, incompetent support staff notwithstanding. :-)" - the Dennis formerly known as (evil), MCFL |

Ironically I am feeding him this weekend while his slave is away. The slave also has a goldfish which Deo lives with happily. He even drinks from the goldfish bowl, would you believe it! B & C would swallow that goldfish in two no one second! Deo is well looked after btw. He has his own collar and his long hair is always brushed and tidy - he is also well fed. He just has an attitude problem to some other cats. -- Bev The email of the species is more deadly than the mail. |
