No success. I chucked the kibble down the hall, Vino watched then yawned
and lay down next to his empty bowl. Spoiled brat!

Nope. He simply will not eat this flavour anymore. He will eat all other
flavours. I think I'm going to have to lay off the big bag for a while
until he's forgotten about it, and then go back to it.
