In the planter, life continues

Earlier: "Cash who's been hanging back winks at Mosey and with a mild
shudder takes
the snakes which are a little heavy for Daisy-chan and follows her towards
the kitchen.

Not noticed by them, one little snake wriggles out through a tear and hides
under a deck lounge chair. It's a pretty little lady green garden snake.
Her body looks a little lumpy at the bottom end and her time is near, but
she sees no sand. She looks about carefully and finally spies a little
planter with dirt and a Sweet William flowing plant. It will have to do.
She bides her time waiting for nightfall to climb in and lay her eggs."

As night fell, Silina makes her way to the planter and climbing up the
tumbling Sweet William with it's vibrant green leaves and crimson flowers,
she finds a nice spot underneath to make into her birthing bower.
Shivvering a little in the chill air, she burrows down a little then piles
up some loose potting soil and begins to lay her eggs.

Tired and hungry as she finishes, she decides to try the pretty flowers and
finds they are delicious! She eats her fill carefully nibbling so it won't
show any pattern to alert anyone that she's under there, then she curls up
beside her soon to be babies and goes to sleep, awaiting the warm sun to
waken her as normal. In her dreams, something that looks like a lovely
flower but has claws and teeth chase her but Silina gets away.

Meantime, Silina hopes her gift to the God with fur and nails was accepted.
It was the best of the best flower foods she could find. Maybe just maybe,
they will let her and her babies grow well? Silina doesnt know much about
Gods and a new one just sniffed her but let her be. It tasted different to
her tounge from that first one she nosed.

She's just a little critter in a suddenly very big world with only a planter
that seems home-like. She hides back a little further in the dark and prays
her gift to the clawed one is good enough to keep her and her babies safe.

From up on the bridge wing Capt LeGrand observes the snake-mom and the
kitties, and he smiles. He leaves his executive officer in charge of the
bridge, then leaves on a mission. He observes that the planter the snake
is nesting in is directly outside of an unoccupied stateroom. Calling
down to the engineering department, the captain requests the services of
the ship's engineer and a couple of maintenance workers. Under the
captain's guidance they very quietly cut a hole in the bulkhead (wall)
behind the planter and install a weather-tight kitty flap. They then
erect a mostly soundproof plexiglass shelter enclosing the planter and
the kitty flap, and equip the stateroom with foods that little mom-snakes
and baby snakes would find tasty.
