Half & Half or I like it chilly
I can't help it, when I go to bed I like the bedroom to be nice and
cool. I also run a fan so there is air circulating. I have nice sheets and a woven cotton blanket, perfect for this South Carolina climate. If I get cold, I can always pull up the bedspread. I want the room cool. Persia comes to bed with me most nights. She has since the first day she demanded I let her in. When I go to bed, first she has a few bites of crunchies (her Rx food). She uses the litter box. Drinks some water. Then she leaps up the pet steps to join me. She's getting old, my little girl. The way I like to sleep, I'm wondering if it's a tad too cold for her? I make sure she can feel my warmth. Lately, she gets down those pet steps in the middle of the night. She'll sleep with me about 4 hours, then get down. She eats some kibble. Then she goes off and sleeps somewhere in the living room. I feel a little guilty. But I really cannot sleep in a warm room with no air circulating. So I'm just letting her find her own place to sleep. She always knows the minute I wake up. She comes wandering back into the bedroom. "Hey! Isn't it time to feed me?" Not until after I wash my face and brush my teeth, sweet-pea. Jill |

Jill ~~~~~~~~~ You described me to a "T"--temperature, circulating air, etc. Holly was 18.5 years old when she died, and I wanted to be sure she would be comfortable since she spent most nights in bed with me. So, I took a soft, warm blanket and placed it on the bed where Holly could shift it around, and she often did that. I would find her either curled up close to me or rolled up in that blanket. Perhaps Persia would like something similar. Holly never seemed uncomfortable, but she did like that blanket. Duffy is now about 15 years old (hard to believe), but he shows no interest in having his own blanket. He just stretches out beside me. Of course, he always gives me a good kneading first. MaryL |

MaryL Persia sometimes still kneads my side. But she doesn't knead my side so often or for very long, anymore. Her poor front-declawed paws (I didn't do it!) are starting to bother her. Her back is no longer straight. Her shoulders and hips are bearing most of the weight when she walks because she doesn't have her front toes. (I'd like to cut off the toes of whoever did had a vet do this to her.) Otherwise, she's doing very well. Eating well, drinking well, peeing and pooing. She plays a bit sometimes and licks that catnip "mouse". She seems happy. For the last month or so she's taken up residence on the living room sofa if I'm using the computer. She never really did that before. I took her picture http://s1342.photobucket.com/user/ji...ff38c.jpg.html Jill |
