Personally, when in doubt call the vet out. (Not virtually, just take kitty there & I am sure they will be able to help you.) If you do find out, please do let us know what it was if you would, please? It would be very interesting to know. Thanks in advance, Best of luck, Sheelagh "o" PS: Gorgeous kitty by the way ) |

If so, I would ask for a reference to see one of their veterinarians. (I did that with Duffy at Texas A&M University and was pleasantly surprised to find that the feline ophthalmologist was very reasonable in cost.) If that is not possible, ask for a reference to another veterinarian. Since you say that your vets have come across anything like this, your primary vet may be willing to contact others so he or she can make an appropriate reference. Has a biopsy been made of any of the growths? Is your vet sure they are warts? MaryL |

Is it just one kitten who has that, or do several? You definitely need to get a second opinion, as others have suggested. Let us know what it turns out to be, will you please? -- Lynne |

anyone come across this as the vets here have not , any ideas or advice photo at http://advenet.com/photos/billy-weyr/picture642.aspx Hi, Here is a site with an extensive list of feline skin lesions and possible diagnoses: http://www.peteducation.com/article....&articleid=204. It might help you narrow things down since you can see and feel the lesions and their characteristics. I would urge you to seek out a veterinary dermatologist or a general vet who specializes in skin diseases to rule out malignancy or the possibility that the lumps grow and become obstructive A dermatologist would likely either take a skin scraping or do a biopsy/ies of the lesions. Another option would be to have your kitty seen at a university veterinary clinic as you would then have access to a team of vets. Either way, please have your kitty seen by a specialist so that you can prevent potential future problems. I hope this helps. Good luck and please keep us posted. -- Message posted via CatKB.com http://www.catkb.com/Uwe/Forums.aspx...ealth/200707/1 |

anyone come across this as the vets here have not , any ideas or advice photo at http://advenet.com/photos/billy-weyr/picture642.aspx Thanks for the help have put a new photo up taken a week after first The vet is treating it as ring worm so I am praying that it has not got to any of the kittens we have re homed so far and that my own cats do not get it !! I am about 4hr car travel from any college of veterinary medicine so will hope vet is right but if does not start to get better soon will have to try a vets about an hour away I hope this year is not going to be as bad as last , as almost all of the kittens rescued last had eye infections and if we have one is sick its not safe to rehome any until they are all cleared by vets , which with ring worm can be up to 6-8 weeks will post as have news This kittens is from a litter of four two are with me and two are with a fosterer about 30 miles away she has just called me to tell me that one of her two has the now go the same warts ! that means that we have now where to put any new kittens, Looks like this year is going to be as much fun as last and just as costly , I do wish people would get there pets done instead of dumping in fields or the side of roads as the % of cats trapped is about 10% feral cats and the rest are house moggies dumped and very scared and as it is very hard to home kittens around here it takes a long time to home to cats and it has to be done outside the The Cat Action Trust as the Charity is not set up to deal with pets a little background I starting helping out the local cat rescue (The Cat Action Trust ) about 10 years ago it deals with feral cats by trapping spaying and putting back making sure that they are fed and checked by vets when needed and the kittens are homed , about 2 years ago Enid Evans the lady who started the branch on Anglesey passed away and it has been hard to keep it going with out her but we keep going for the cats and in her memory -- Billy-weyr Message posted via CatKB.com http://www.catkb.com/Uwe/Forums.aspx...ealth/200708/1 |
