I was going to post something about Bonnie's one year anniversary with me
this week, but I've been taking a class all week and actually forgot (bad
meowmie). May 17th last year was the day I trapped her and brought her to
be spayed, not even planning on keeping her. It dawned on me when I went

to
get a refill on Shadow's meds tonight and they asked if I wanted to make
Bonnie's yearly exam appt. Now I have to decide if I should get her tested
for FeLV or just go ahead and get the booster. I don't think it hurts to
just shot her, but I'm curious, and not really worried since she is very
healthy. I guess it is better to just reserve that test for if she becomes
ill. What do you guys think?

Don't know about the testing but we wanted to say a big Happy Adoption Day
to Bonnie and you. She is a very lucky cat.

Happy Anniversary to Bonnie. She's a lucky cat.
I'd just get the booster, if the vet will let you . I have had vets who
insisted on the ELISA, but, dang, it's kind of expensive, $40 I think. And what
difference, really, would it make at this point to know--you aren't going to be
exposing her to unvaccinated cats anyway.

Hi Cheryl,

First, concatulations on rehabilitating Bonnie -- hard to believe it's
almost a year! We'll be right there with you soon re Tucker (it started in
early June with us)! Re the Feline Leukemia shot; seems like I've heard
some negative stuff on this vaccine; you might check online for this. If it
were me, I'd probably do the test; if she didn't have it and she doesn't go
out I'd probably skip it but I'm no expert.
