WOW!! Did any of you see the Belmont Stakes? Fabulous race, great finish,
and the first filly to win the Belmont Stakes in more than a century.
(Twenty-two have tried; Rags to Riches is the third to win.)

I missed it, but I'm delighted that she won.

I just read in a USAToday blog that Rags to Riches has Secretariat in her
pedigree (through her sire A. P. Indy). You can't get much better than
that!

I'd guess that by now a great many racehorses have a dose of Secretariat
back there somewhere. I'm guessing Slew's Tizzy has a pretty impressive
bloodline too.

But any horse that run's the Belmont has my respect. Certainly one that
wins it.

She had such FIGHT in her. She was not backing down no way no how.
That was such a sight.
