Haha! That's a pretty funny image. Does he then go into "I meant to
do that" mode?

There's an English actor named Leslie Phillips (see
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0680587/bio ) who specialised in characters who
are romantic cads - after the ladies... who could do an "hello" in the most
overtly silly suggestive way... Francis sort of topples over, looks up and
has the same expression on his face... I swear he's doing an, "I say, hello"
The Brits here should understand, anyhow :-)

Cheers, helen s

Nikki used to do elevator butt and put her head on the floor, bending her
neck til she rolled over her head. She wasn't even ashamed, she would just
go on purring like mad and come back for more butt scritches. Oh my, I
miss that purr so much.

All I have to say to that is:

"Ding *dong*!" (another of his catchphrases)

It may help others to know that he played the voice of the Sorting Hat
in the Harry Potter films.

LOL! I've always found elevator butts to be prominent in both my boycats
and girlcats! As for the kitty-calling stuff, Robin, Oreo, and Tucker come
running but the QueenBee, Miss Midnight, needs an engraved invitation.

I never paid attention to the relative position of cat butts to the
floor during times of vigorous petting, until someone wrote a month or
two back about one of her cats hiking up her little tuchus in a rush of
kitty ecstasy. Now I look and it's everywhere! Roxie and Odessa lift
theirs with their tails way up like little flagpoles, with Odessa going
especially bats if there's a man around, the flirt; and Brandy does this
crazy thing where her tail curls like a little corkscrew. I shouldn't be
surprised because Brandy's a weird cat. This is the cat who barks like a
little dog and steals bites of peanut butter sandwiches, so why
shouldn't she have a screwy tail?

But Stosh? I, or any lady, can pet him until next month, but do I get an
elevator butt from him? Certainly not. Of course, I get a spa treatment
with a massage every night and how many people can say that. But I
wonder, is the elevator butt a female thing? and for that matter, why is
it that only male cats seem to respond to my hog-calling? (Think of the
Arkansas University cheer except say KITTTTTEEEEEE-CAT!!! except
SOOOOOEEEE-PIG) Fritzie used to come running from as far as the
equivalent of five city blocks (we lived in a little hick town back
then) and Stosh immediately drops what he's doing. Is there some
Y-chromosome thing going on here?

Blessed be,
Baha

I don't think it's so much a sexual thing...I figure that, since there's
so much in the way of scent glands there, maybe hoisting their butts up
and waving their tails a bit is another way of marking their two-legged
territory. Except for Stosh; for him, touching the base of the tail is
seen (by him) as an invitation to play, usually a vigorous game of
beat-the-snot-out-of-Mama or Banzai (attack the foot under the blanket,
wrestle it, subdue the vicious marauding foot, etc.)

Blessed be,
Baha

I've definitely gotten the elevator butt thing from male cats. I got
chastised on rpch+b for wondering whether it was a sexual thing.
