Default Purrs needed (OT)

Purrs are on the way, but I don't understand why you only have until next
Tuesday. The 29th is three weeks from yesterday.

Some of you may recall I was having serious troubles with a certain
boss over an allegation that could have led to disciplinary action
back in December/January. Nothing more has been said on the matter
until today when I am handed a letter telling me the hearing will go
ahead on the 29th of March. I've had 4 months of stress from this and
am horrifed to find out

1. She should have told me by the 29th of December what was happening
or if she was unable to tell me why and when she would
2. She said nothing at all to me about the extension
3. She now provided evidence that she asked for an extension to the
19th of January without telling me but it looks like the main reason
she did it was to get a statement from someone else amended so it was
even less favourable to me than it had been in the first place
4. This is the first time I have seen her other bit of evidence
5. One of my colleagues whom I work closely with has agreed to be a
witness- I had a feeling it was her behind it but now it has been
confirmed I am expected to work with this woman
6. She's had 4 months to gather her evidence I only have until next
Tuesday

Anyway looks like I'm getting the boot- so could do with some new job
purrs if anyone has any spare

Job purrs on the way! (You need one where you don't have to put up with
that kind of garbage anyway.)

I will.

However what you just told me is ridiculous. If you can do your job
competently no bully manager can get you out.
I had this once myself. I won. She got disciplined.

Be brave, Lesley. Fight the bŁ5^&: for your job. I did once.

Thanks and could I also ask for some purrs concerning the interview I
have the Friday before the hearing......wouldn't that be funny if I
walked in the next Monday and said "Why go ahead I'm leaving here
anyway"-okay the other people have to do all their CRB checks ( no
sweat) so it won't happen in time for me to put my notice in before
the hearing but it would amuse or better still say nothing until I am
clear to start the new job then put my notice in and cite what has
been done as my main reason for leaving.....There's a bit of me that
says if I was to be offered it on the Monday I could put my notice in,
I could always temp whilst waiting to be cleared or cash a grand in
from a matured policy and have a few weeks with my feet up

Actually, no matter what the circumstances, you should not do anything until the
hearing is over. The hearing has three possible outcomes: They find against you
and you decide to challenge. The hearing has no outcome (equal causation). The
hearing finds that you did nothing wrong. In the last scenario you now have
cause to start something against whoever is doing this OR suddenly develop some
kind of Traumatic Stress and apply for Workmans Comp. Or a quiet cash settlement.

I'd suggest you see a doctor/psychiatrist immediately to lay a foundation for
such a claim.

Of course then you could apply/accept another job.

One other thing. If this is some sort of Administrative Action I would imagine
you have the right of discovery. Tell them you won't participate until you get
copies of every interview they took.

Lots of purrs on the way!

BTW, keep all these usenet posts that are 'stamped' with time and date -
they act as your diary. That she has delayed notifying you, has rearranged
dates without notifying you, and has kept information necessary to this from
you serves as excellent evidence against her.

If it was here, any complaint of alleged bullying automatically means both
parties have to go into 'resolution' councilling. it does not matter whether
the allegations are true or not, its about getting said people to agree how
to work together harmoniously.

Competently?! I have 4 references from consultants that say I am much
better than competent! And I just got a supporting statement from the
colleague in the next office- she has one witness...who also works in
the next office (I can hear her now- resisting the urge to go and
smack her in the mouth is quite hard) the colleague who is writing my
supporting statement (and I think would come along as a witness) tells
me she has a big mouth and is flaky and probably horrified at the
consequences of her actions and she would either not come along or
give a bad impression if she did- in the meantime "Team Lesley" goes
from strength to strength although the chair of the panel shares an
office with the manager concerned who I daresay has spent the last 4
months slagging me off to him!

Oh even if I went for this job the Friday before and they got down on
their knees and kissed my feet whilst begging me to work for them
there and then- there would still be paperwork by the ton to complete
CRB checking (Amazingly although I work in a very sensitive area-
sexual health- I didn't need a CRB check but this job I am going for
is in medicine for the elderly so I have to get cleared) etc so it
would still be several weeks before they could even confirm my
clearance to start, which is when I put my notice in

The hearing has three possible outcomes: They find against you
and you decide to challenge. The hearing has no outcome (equal causation).. The
hearing finds that you did nothing wrong.

The 3 outcomes are
1. The matter gets dropped
2. Informal resolution- something like say 6 months monitoring to make
sure it doesn't repeat then the whole thing gets dropped. If they
propose that I want them to backdate the monitoring to take into
account that it's been 4 months already because if they don't then it
will mean it's a 10 month period
3. Proceed to further disciplinary action up to and including
immediate dismissal

I'd suggest you see a doctor/psychiatrist immediately to lay a foundation for
such a claim.

I have 2 letters about my stress at work including one that says my
stress levels should be reduced, which this certainly does not count
towards!
