And I haven't even unpacked them yet.

For some time, I have been bemoaning the fact that the company from whom I
bought (matching) bookshelves has gone out of business and that the number
of books ( mostly technical reference books) has not decreased.

I finally decided that I needed the shelves. Two 6 foot tall bookshelves
were delivered today.

Dulce Mae has been getting nice, streeetchy scratching sessions on the
boxes. Later, I found that she had climbed to the tops of the packaged
shelves. She tells me she LOVES her new toys.

Tonight I will assemble the shelves. I will try to find space for them. I
will fill them from the stacks and boxes of books that are unshelved.

I fully expect I will be closely supervised, and may have to argue over
bookspace vs catspace...

You will definitely have to leave some catspace on the shelves. I once had
a bookshelf with some ornaments on the top shelf. Lindy (RB) decided that
was her shelf. After the fourth or fifth time of picking the ornaments off
the floor and replacing them, I got the message and left that shelf for her
use. Of course, after a while, she stopped using it. ;-)
