Female in Heat: How Often
I have a female cat, and (admitedly) rather foolishly I haven't had her
fixed yet. How much does this typically cost for an adult-aged cat? Also, how often do they normally dothis? In our case, it seems to be every 8 weeks. That sure seems often to me, I once had another female that wasn't fixed and it was about every 3-4 months or so. 2 months sure is very often. Tips? LRH |

From what I understand, heat cycles can vary. I've read here that some
female cats can *continually* be in heat until they mate. Sorry, I can't give help on prices, since my recent cats are boys. If cost is an issue, see if your local shelter/humane society has a spay-neuter program. They will often do it for a nominal fee. Please consider getting her spayed soon. It will make her a happier and healthier pet. Rene |
