Default I think I found my dream kitty

A few days ago I was shaken up by a near-nightmare of a dear little
cat who didn't think she could be loved. I think I found her, and I
think she is very happy in a new forever-home!

While no one in the shelter matched the color description of the kitty
whom my subconscious named Catherine, there was one matching the
pattern and the personality. Her name is Rhianna. She and her brother
Squeak were the victims of someone's domestic abuse, and the fleeing
owner, heartbroken, returned them to the shelter while she ran for her
safety. Squeak was always outgoing, but Rhianna always more shy,
shrinking, and wary. It took a while for foster-families to be
trusted, and she didn't show well for a long time.

Yesterday someone saw her and Squeak, gasped, commented non-stop about
her beauty, and straightway took both for her mother. Mother had
recently lost her little dog, and was thinking that she might like a
couple of cats in her life.

The daughter and her family came back to report that Rhianna
immediately jumped in Mother's lap, began to knead, and curled up with
a purr in her dear little heart. Mother and cats are very happy
together, and a shy little girl is basking in the love.

Blessed be,
Baha

You do such good things. And Rhianna is a lovely name, although names
like Squeak work very well too.

thanks...you make ol' Lizzy blush!

As far as I know, the cats were given their names when they were
originally adopted out as kittens nearly four years ago. Squeak is
fitting for the little pantherly fellow, as that is the sound he
makes; Rhianna, probably from Welsh mythology or Fleetwood Mac
(Rhiannon.) It's a name I'd give a kitty, myself.

When they were returned to the shelter Louie and I kept them awhile,
then they were fostered by my good friend, the Prophet Jeff, carrying
out the command given him by The Great Cat to love, cherish, and
protect the Living Extensions of The Great Cat's Bodily Form. They'd
been adopted out, returned very briefly, and finally found their place
in the home of a nice old-but-young-in-spirit lady.

Blessed be,
Baha

I've been having a string of irritating dreams lately when trains
break down, get misrouted or timetables are wrong and I end up
nowhere near where I want to be (like trying to get from London
to Edinburgh and ending up in a post-industrial slum town in the
centre of the North Island in New Zealand).

Do you have a trip coming up, or something else you're a little apprehensive
about? I used to have dreams like that before a job interview or some
important meeting.

For years, I had a recurring dream where my sister and I were going to
go to the Middle East together (to an unspecified country). The first few
times I had the dream, it was all about my dread about taking the trip,
because I was scared to travel to the region. So I was furiously
brainstorming trying to come up with a good excuse to get out of it.

Then I started dreaming that the day of the trip was coming close. These
were all about preparation (or lack thereof!): I didn't get my passport
in time, or I didn't have enough cash, didn't buy the plane tickets in
time, or didn't buy all the supplies I needed to bring with me and it was
too late to do whatever.

After that, I started dreaming about the day of the trip, where I was
frantically trying to get to the airport, but various mishaps occurred:
the cab I was in broke down, or there was a traffic jam, or I went to
the wrong terminal, etc. In these, I experienced a combination of anxiety
and shame (for being a flake), relief (maybe I'd miss the plane and not
have to go) and disappointment (maybe I would miss out on something good).

In the next set in the series, we were on our way. There were various
combinations of long flights, long train rides, and/or ferries in these
dreams.

Next set: we arrived. And it was beautiful. It was near sunset, and
everything was bathed in a golden light. Had a couple of these. I was
still apprehensive in these dreams, but also excited and moved by the
beauty.

In the early 80s, my father offered to take me and my two sisters to
Israel for a couple of weeks. I wanted to go, but my relationship with
my father has always been difficult. One time he took one of my sisters
and me to the Caribbean for a week, and he was a total sh*t to me the
entire time. Ruined my week in paradise! If I'd had the option, I
might've just booked a plane home and left early, but I couldn't afford
to do that. So no way was I going to risk being stuck with my father
halfway around the world, while he played some mind game on me to make
me miserable. His moods and alliances (with one sister or another) are
always mercurial, unpredictable and inscrutable. So I declined. My two
sisters went and really enjoyed the trip. I've always felt mixed about
my decision. I'm sure it was the smart thing to do, but *damn*.

Anyway, I've always thought maybe this series of dreams was related to
that.
