today was the first follow up blood draw for the levels of her thyroid
condition after a month on meds... she started on a half pills a day as my
vet is very conservative because of the side effects which can be quite
negative... see persia's and kinsey's posts on this i won't repeat now...
this conservative start means she is tolerating small doses but it hasn't
moved her numbers enough to help er, she has lost another four ounces in
this month so she will be starting a full pill a day for a month to see how
this affects her... she was NOT amused at havving blood drawn.

yes she is actually doing quite well no ill side effects so this
conservative approach is working, vet said that since she is losing weight,
but had a bit she could stand to lose it gives us time to move
conseratively, if she had been uber thin things woud be different, Lee

thanks for the purrs, she is on the same med aspersia is... can't begin to
spell that... we went from a half to a whole, she said twice daily doisng is
more effective but dh said her temperment can barely tolerate the once a day
with a pill shooter so that is what we are going to try, five mg a day for a
month or so then more blood draws then decide from there, Lee

Kenzie had a very bad time with the Tapezole, at first.

I hope that OJ doesn't have any problems.

Kenzie is on three fourths of a 5 milligram tablet per day, and now she
is doing well on it.

BTW: are you dosing twice a day? My vet said that twice a day dosing is
much more effective.

I use a straight razor blade to cut the tablets. They are scored, so
cutting one in half is easy.

Cutting a 5 milligram tablet so there are two approximately equal 3/8th
of a tablet is a bit more work

Sending purrs for OJ.

Every day is a treasure with Kenzie; I try to treat them that way. There
will only be so many, and then there will never, ever, be any more.

Purrs for OEJ and I hope he diidn't overhear that TED saying that she
has "a bit (of weight) she could stand to lose." Even when one is ill,
one has ones self-esteem to consider.

That is SO true, Will...kitties as well as people do have self esteem
issues.
You should see Pookie, staring at himself in the mirror..he loves to look at
hisownself..LOL.
BTW, there is a party going on at Mosey's on the other group, and he wants
awl the kitties from there to port over

Love

trust me, of all the characteristics this cat might lack, self esteem is NOT
one in shortage, thanks, Lee
