Default Amber is hard to convince

When I feed Tiger and Amber, I only put about 1/3 of the (6oz) can out
at first. This is because Tiger would eat his whole half at once and
promptly barf it up. Amber eats a little, leaves and then comes back
for more - usually five or six times. When the can is empty, I tell
Amber that it's all gone - there's no more. I guess she doesn't believe
me because she still sits and waits near her dish. Then, when I show
her the empty can she will get up and leave for her window seat.

I had a similar situation yesterday with Persia. She adores milk. If she
sees me take the milk carton out of the refrigerator she's right there
waiting for a splash of it. But you see, the milk had spoiled; I was just
pouring what was left down the drain. Poor girl was beside herself. What's
she *doing*?! She relaxed when she saw me dispose of the carton and
ascertained I didn't have any milk, either.
