Ok Ok, keep your hair on, whats with you I dont flame, there was nothing
wrong with what I said, the cat *may* be lost, and the family *may* want to breed from him, your the only one who seems to think that is ignorant nonsense were you having a bad day then? I alway's fix my cats, but I do realise that some people breed and do not, they do have that right you know,{or dont you you} Jean.P. Such ignorant nonsense may fly in .anecdotes, but in .rescue it's nothing but flamebait, pure and simple. MMJ would be doing everyone a service, including the cat, by getting him fixed ASAP. and then they might try and sue if they do come for him MMJ has better grounds for a lawsuit if they show up. |

That was very sad Steve hearing about those cats, things like that always
make me cry. Jean.P. Steve Touchstone wrote in message ... I will aslo post a flier there about him, and at our vets, local grocery stores & canvas nearby neighborhoods. One thing that crossed my mind: a couple of months ago our next door neighbor passed away, and we found out he had a cat. I never saw the cat, & don't know how long he'd had it, but his brother, when he came over to thank us for card/flowers sent to the funeral home (and to ask if some workers could get in our yard to cut down a dead tree that was just on their side of the property line), told us that just *three days* before he died, our neighbor mad arrangements for someone to care for the cat if something happened to him. Our neighbor was only in his 50's and had heart problems. Maybe this was his cat??? Continuing purrs for the little guy. We had a tragic story here a few weeks back. Someone living out in the county had a LOT of cats, early estimates ran 50-60. The property owner didn't have any relatives in the state, so the cats were abandoned when the owner died. No one said anything until the cats had gone feral and started killing the neighbors' chickens. That was when a lot of us here learned that there was no agency that was responsible for strays out in the county. One of the local groups (the same group which does the low cost neutering where I took Rocky) went out and set traps, but the cats were in very bad shape. They didn't think they'd be able to save many of them. I suppose the only good thing that came out of it is that the sheriff department and city shelter actually cooperated (for some reason they're usually feuding over jurisdiction - maybe the fact that the sheriff is up for reelection has something to do with the cooperation). I haven't heard anything about the cats for awhile, but the sheriff now has a pickup outfitted to deal with strays. snip -- Steve Touchstone, faithful servant of Sammy, Little Bit and Rocky (RB) [remove Junk for email] Home Page: http://www.sirinet.net/~stouchst/index.html Cat Pix: http://www.sirinet.net/~stouchst/animals.html |

Whilst no-one is saying you can't talk about such controversial things, perhaps its best to consider them to be with the sign "DANGER - the nature of this subject is unpredicable, it may bite or get vicious all of a sudden without seeming provocation. Approach with extreme caution". I've decided to put "PW - politics warning" in posts where the views or topics might be controversial. That way folks can choose whether or not to read it and/or add to it. Joyce |

The veggie will be steamed brussels sprouts with a little grated Vermont cheddar cheese sprinkled over the top. Jill |
