I know I'm a day or so late reading this thread but it interests me
because I have a Groupon for a cleaning company to do an hour's work
with a crew of 3 (supposedly). I'm going to be picky about where they
clean for that hour. It's going to be hard for me to clean after Friday,
though it's already hard for me to clean with my back problem. But after
surgery, I know I haven't mentioned it here, I will be laid up for a
while. I'm finally having my back issue addressed by surgery and I'll
have 2 vertebrae fused and some disk implants and other hardware
surgically implanted.

TuTu and I shall send you our best purrs and prayers for successful
surgery. My DIL has had 3 ops and I know how it is. MLB

I have a lovely cleaning lady who I found on the local Cafe list (associated with the local Freecycle groups), and I employed her to clean up my last apartment after I moved out. Then I asked her if she'd come and do my new apartment, and she agreed, and I've never been happier. I pay her $60 once a month and she cleans for 3 hours, then stops. Most of the time she finishes everything, and sometimes she even takes the time to play with Rita for awhile. (Rita LOVES her!). I'm not a neat person, but at least once a month I make sure everything is picked up and out of her way so she can clean, and it helps me a whole lot.
Too bad you don't live around the DC area. I'd send her your way.

I live near you and would love her info.

Thank you! I'll try to update you guys when I can. I'm looking for a
better, more ergonomic setup for my laptop because I'll have to work
from home for a little while.

Thank you! I have my pet sitter coming in to scoop litter boxes because
I won't be able to bend over for a while. She's such a great person.
My cats love her.

Wow! I should think you would be incapacitated for a while! Purrs for the
surgery to accomplish its goals and for healing to be swift, with as little
pain as possible.

Purrs for a successful surgery, and a quick recovery. A friend of mine
had that surgery about 20 years ago and it made a huge difference for her.

Purrs for successful surgery and fast healing. Take care of yourself, and
be kind to your back by hiring household help (or friends!!) while you
recuperate.

I'm so glad you've got the help of a good person. Purrs for a quick
recovery from your operation.

Oh, purrs for the back. Whoever was in charge of Intelligent Design
didn't do a very good job on backs. Hmm. Didn't do such a good job on
the respiratory system either now that I think about it. Cats, on the
other hand, seem to be designed pretty well.
