Far out among the waves in the South Pacific, a small wooden object
floats. Moving in closer, one can see the white jibsail flat on the water. A small sailboat has been swamped by a wave and turned over. Moving in even closer, a tiny smokey grey kittee can be seen atop the wooden hull, claws dug in to keep from tumbling into the water of the vast ocean. "Haaaalp! Meeee0oooooowww! esssss ohhhh esssss!" Uh oh. In at attempt to make a romantic and sentimental entrance to her wedding, Meowy decided to sail onto the black sand beach at Qat Island. It's not working out as she planned. She hopes for a 'porter to appear, which a sensible kittee would have used in the first place. What's that in the distance? A red and white rustbucket of a fishing boat? Just like the one that abandoned her on the Island in the first place? Hmm. Stay or go. Rustbucket fishy-smelling arrival to the magical wedding place, or wait and hope for a heroic rescue by a cat or a qat. Fishy-smelling? Yummy. |

The paw is raised once again, and waves once. The kittee rememfurs her fiance, her beloved Mosey, and thru the haze of yummy fish odors, raises her paw again high in the air, and waves twice. [The orange-striped jetcopter makes a broad circle of the area then dives towards the overturned sailboat. She comes to a hover a few dozen away, then slowly manuevers over to the boat. A rescue basket descends from the side of the copter and splashes down right next to Meowie. Meowie works her claws free of the wooden sailboat hull, then she leaps into the backet. Harri presses buttons in the cockpit, and the basket is raised to the door of the copter. A hydraulic arm reaches out and pulls the basket into the back cabin. Once she sees that Meowie is safe inside Harri gains altitude, calls the fishing boat on the radio to thank them for their assistance, sets the autopilot to return to the island, then goes back to wrap a warm blanker around Meowie and help her get her furs dried off. Once she is comfortable Harri escorts the blanket-wrapped Meowie to a seat in the cockpit, fastens her seatbelt, and makes sure that it fastened really tightly. Once Meowie is situated, Harri takes the controls again, pulls all the power she can, and makes a beeline towards the island. Once she crosses the beach she again makes a wide turn, dives straight down until the skids of the copter barely clear the trees (most of them anyway), heads straight for the village, then pulls the nose almost straight up once they reach teh bridecat's hut. She then lands right next to the hut and helps Meowie out of the copter. She sees the rest of the bridecatmaids runnning to help, so she helps Meowie out of the cockpit and into the hut.] |

You are wonderful, and did a wonderful, kind, rescue and you can fly that copter very well. I can't thank you enough. Is there any way I can re-pay you for rescuing my beloved? |
