Spicey's back home
Spicey has come home from the vet, and her legs seem a bit stiff, probably
from being constrained to a cage for the better part of a week. Even with Dot and Buster here, the place seemed so empty without her! She's currently going all around the house, sniffing everything, and alternately following and watching, me, Buster, and Dot, like she can't believe that everyone is back in her life. Dot and Buster, on the other hand, don't seem to find it odd at all that Spicey had disappeared and reappeared. Spicey gave me a "mrrow" and purr to let me know that she wanted the food dishes topped off. Just as TED reported, her appetite is back! I'm so relieved that things are back to normal for now. I know that I have a couple of increasingly senior cats, but I can't bear to think of parting with any of them, so every year and every day they're with me is one of life's joys. |

She wanted to stay on my lap, and hugged and pressed her cheek against my arm. She'd periodically look up at me with limpid, almost tearful eyes. Those large eyes she has that seem to be made to fit a lifetime of wonder and memories. I noticed that her little wrist was shaved. It seemed that if she could, she wanted to tell me all about what a terrible place she was in, and how she was poked and mistreated. But she was brave, she would say, and fought back. Although what I heard, Spicey, was that they saved your life, and in return you were threatening theirs. |

Trust me, I know what it's like wondering whether or not she'll come back home. Sounds like she's practically back to her old I-might-just-rip-your-arm-off self again. Jill |

Oh, it's awful, isn't it? I hate seeing that little shaved spot on the arm. Insert an IV. Poke, prod. I'm sorry! It's necessary. But she feels much better now. But she was brave, she would say, and fought back. Although what I heard, Spicey, was that they saved your life, and in return you were threatening theirs. Yep, she was brave. And she gave them "what for" when she was feeling better. Jill |

Spicey is a funny thing. Maybe it's because I saw her stay in one place near death, but now, she seems healthier than I've ever seen her, and seemingly all over the place, choosing napping and lookout spots I've never seen her use before. |

She nearly died of it, so I am very happy that Spicey is doing well. |
