Last night I was driving Herman and whilst stationary at a junction where
I was
waiting for a gap in traffic to turn left on to the main road. Fool in
Audi
came up behind. He then drove straight into the rear of my car... Said
fool in
Audi said it was my fault that he drove into the back of my car as my car
was
stationary... Said fool refused to exchange details (as is required by
law) and
insisted him driving into the back of my stationary car was not his fault
but
mine. Luckily no-one was physically hurt, but I was getting a tad worried
for
my own safety due to the aggressive manner of the Audi fool. So I phoned
the
police and gave the registration mumber of the Audi. It took that to get
the
guy to give me his details. Obviously he's never read the Highway Code as
regards leaving space between you & the vehicle in front.

Cheers, helen s

Shame you had to have contact with the jackass. But you handles it right.

This whole idea of blatantly denying you have done something wrong in spite
of all evidence to the contrary is getting more common in society isn't it?
Seems that way to me anyhow.

I had a similar accident and the "lady" wouldn't give me any information
etc. I simply informed her I was driving directly to the police station
with the information from her car and reporting the accident as a hit and
run. Funny she was right behind me when we got to the police station.

Front end offerings (purrs) to you, Helen, for the upset & irritation,
and rear end offerings (preferably messy ones) to the Audi Nazi who
was probably on the 'phone instead of looking where he was going.

Many years ago on the North Circular Rd our entire r-h lane of traffic
had to brake hard for a right-turner across the central reservation:
everone succeeeded except for the prat behind me who complained that
he couldn't understand why I'd braked! Luckily I had a 3-litre Rover
v his Morris Marina. My slim scratch on the bootlid v his radiator
demolished on the engine block & probable write-off!

Good luck with your claim. Purrs that Herman comes back as good as
new.

Sorry to hear about your close encounter.

Thanks Victor - at least no-one was physically hurt, which is a blessing.

Calming purrs sent, plus some litterbox offerings for a certain Audi & its
driver.
Suz

Thanks Suz. Waffles has just thrown up a steaming hairball containing innards
of *something*. I do believe she wishes it to be sent to an Audi owner ;-)
