Default Chibi not home but Romeo is victorious

Chibi isn't home yet; have checked everywhere that animals might be,
but she isn't. Also, no one has responded to the posters.

The scary but beautiful boycat, whom I am calling Spook because he's
pure black with amber eyes (you should see him in the dark), has
apparently been put in his place (as in not in my cats' area) by
Romeo. I told you that Romeo had been really jumpy and had had second
thoughts about eating his breakfast. I think Spook chased him away
and I saw Spook trying to keep Jona from getting to me one day. I
called and Jona decided to come straight toward me, at which point
Spook cut her off, and she did a cloverleaf and managed to cross the
road and come up on the other side. She also had been showing signs
of anxiety, so I kept her in for a couple of days. Cherry holds her
own.

Well, after Romeo being gone for a few days he turned up yesterday,
with all the skin off his front little toe (POOR BABY!), a somewhat
piratical droop in one ear, and a triumphant look on his face. He sat
down on the wall ("I own this wall") and immediately scarfed down all
the two helpings of food I put out ("more, Meowmie, more!") I haven't
seen Spook since. Maybe he's decided he should find another area with
fewer cats.

I'm hoping that Chibi will come out of hiding soon. She was a feral
cat for the first several months of her existence and knows how to
fend for herself, and I'm pretty sure that she hasn't been hit by a
car because someone would have called the phone number on her collar,
and that she hasn't been picked up by anyone because she really is not
people-friendly except to her own family.

That's the story for now. And by the way, I purr for many of you,
even though I haven't posted any purrs recently!

I hope you're right and that Chibi will come home. If she's been
hiding from Spook, maybe she'll feel she can venture out now.

I hope Chibi is back home by now.
Best wishes,
Polonca and Soncek
