Maybe the Prince had low thyroid. That would account for the weight
gain in spite of a normal diet and the heart disease, and the
resistance to exercise/play. I'm sure that cats have some of our
human afflictions but they don't get diagnosed. I used to work at the
UCDavis Veterinary hospital, and the pets they treated, especially
dogs, displayed the gamut of diseases that you see in humans.
