That would account for the weight gain in spite of a normal diet and the heart disease, and the resistance to exercise/play. I'm sure that cats have some of our human afflictions but they don't get diagnosed. I used to work at the UCDavis Veterinary hospital, and the pets they treated, especially dogs, displayed the gamut of diseases that you see in humans. Respectfully, MeOwy's Meowmie Datz anuff ob dat.
