Rocky needs purrs
Rocky usually comes in about 9. About once a week, when the weather is
nice, he stays out all night. So, I wasn't really worried when Rocky didn't show up this evening. When the late news came on they forecast rain overnight and tomorrow, so I looked out and sure enough the ground was wet. I went out and looked around a little, and called. I didn't see him, so just figured he had found a dry spot to spent the night and would be hear in the morning. About a half hour later I looked out the patio door and saw him dragging himself home. I don't know how he hurt himself, there isn't a mark on him, but his back feet are cold to the touch and he has no control over them. I tried pinching him and he doesn't seem to feel anything from about 2 inches in front of his tail. I'm afraid he must have a serious back injury. The good thing is that he doesn't to have any pain. I laid down on the floor and poked and prodded him, and then scritched him for awhile. He actually purred a little before he fell asleep. So, I'll be sitting up with him tonight, waiting for TED to open up in the morning. I'll post an update when I get some news from TED, but until then about all I can do is sit with him - and of course ask for some purrs. This is one of those times when I truely wish we had a 24 hour TED. The good thing is that this is Monday. TED care is almost impossible to get from noon Saturday to Monday morning. -- Steve Touchstone, faithful servant of Sammy, Little Bit and Rocky [remove Junk for email] Home Page: http://www.sirinet.net/~stouchst/index.html Cat Pix: http://www.sirinet.net/~stouchst/animals.html |

It is on the N. side of 74th St. next to Western..They are real nice up there and if you want to call and just talk to them, they're very friendly and try to help you with information. Their number is 405-631-7828. If he's not in pain I know you will probably wait till tomorrow though. We will *all* be purring for him and waiting for some news. I am so sorry he got hurt. They told me once that the way to tell if a cat has been hit by a car is if his claws look shredded. Sherry |
