Default Going "home" tomorrow

http://community.webshots.com/s/imag...5fYQASa_ph.jpg
He's safely in my bathroom tonight and going to his [hopefully]
forever home tomorrow. This guy has been a stray in my yard/neighbors
yard since at least this past winter. I "trapped" him (funny story;
he eluded the trap but I didn't know my neighbors had him tame enough
to actually pick him up and put him in a carrier for me lol) so he's
been neutered, shots since early spring. Finally found a home for
him. Shamrock's none too happy he's spending the night in the
bathroom. Oh well.. it's just one night. He's just too tame and
friendly not to have a home.

This is really a wonderful and happy ending and you have done such a
fabulous thing for *two* cats, first Jake and now Lightning! I'm
actually a little disappointed that only one other person has responded,
especially since this is a rescue group and happy endings are the best
thing to read here but unfortunately few and far between.
Regardless, here is a cyber toast to you and a job well done and many
good wishes for everything to fall into place in this kitty's new home!

Hi Cheryl,

I just got home from my painting class and logged on ... and found your
wonderful story. This is really heart-warming. It is great to see such a
success story after reading some of the unpleasant (and sometimes tragic)
tales about cats that have not found a home. Thanks for taking such good
care of this cat.

Incidentally, I loved your description of trying to "trap" the new guy. It
had me laughing out loud -- and we can all stand a good laugh.

Thanks, guys. The timing was very lucky. He has a pretty bad
infection on his foot from stepping on something and I never even saw
him limp. The vet categorized it as a level 2 1/2 out of 4 for
severity. He's on antibiotics now which his new Paw is giving him
faithfully. I shudder to think what could have happened to him out
there.

Hey, just saw this. I can't get to the pictures... Congrats on
finding him a home. Loved the trapping part, but this time I made sure
I *wasn't* drinking anything when I read your post.

lol Well I will try to consider your monitor before I post anymore.
What happened with the pic? I can't get them from work because they blocked
webshots at our firewall. I think it was because of the auto d/l'ing of new
desktop backgrounds by a kazillion people clogging the bandwidth.

I always felt bad when I would take in a stray and they had to be
isolated until given all clear by vet but then someone in the cat
groups just reminded me to think about the life they could be living
if they were still a stray living in the wild and it made me feel
better about what I had to do.
