Default LMAO!!!

Bonnie, my d*g is 100% with cats. All she does is wash them. They don't
particularly like it, but she'd never hurt one.

HRFL Tiger has worked out that all the other cats in the area are
terrified of her, because she's a "strange dog", i.e., they don't know
her. HRFL uses this to its maximum advantage. He doesn't like other cats
in his garden, but if they stand their ground, he usually backs down. Or
he did.

*NOW*, he runs into the house, turfs Bonnie out of her bed, gets her to
follow him into the garden, and tries to encourage her to chase the
other cats by meowing at her, telling her that the cat in the garden
isn't allowed to be there. She, of course, is absolutely NOT allowed to
chase cats *anywhere*, but it doesn't stop HRFL trying to make her. Of
course, her very presence usually makes the other cat run away, but HRFL
is convinced it works.

The only purr-son it has no effect on, is Thomas from next door. But
then he lives with a Jack Russell terrorist and is used to "upstart
dogs". ;o) Even Bonnie is scared of Thomas, LOL!

Rofl! A bodyguard.
Our doxie Happy loved to chase cats, even though he knew he wasn't
allowed to. Except for Bootsie, and she just wouldn't run. Weirdly
enough, that made him very afraid of her. DH says he probably thought
she had a gun.

I live it. Our cats used to come in and get the dog to "please come bark at
the intruder" all the time.

I love 'dog and cat' stories. Last year I heard about someone who had a very
boisterous puppy which was led to the garden pond by the scheming family cat
:-)

Of course, dogs and cats can plot together, we rehomed one cat to be a
companion to an elderly dog who missed his RB long time feline friend. They
were firm friends within a few days, as the new slaves had put a chicken on
top of the fridge to cool, forgetting that what had been inaccessible to the
elderly RB cat was in easy reach of the new cat! They realised that the dog
and cat were suspicously quiet in the kitchen, and went in to find the cat
feasting from the chicken and throwing bits to the dog to keep it quiet. A
few months later the dog got caught short in the kitchen and left a deposit
near the door, which the cat covered up by dragging the door mat across it.

I guess I can never get a dog. Can you imagine Nocturne with a pair of
canine stormtroopers?
