Shamrock caught a cicada
This weekend is the first I've seen of them, and HEARING them. Shamrock
caught one but it was beneath him to eat such a creature. lol He just let it go after it fluttered in his paws. They don't put up much fight so probably aren't much fun. -- Cheryl |

But we're way south & west of you, so maybe later in the summer. :-) We are having a moth invasion of plague proportions, though. Or that's how it seems. Sherry |

I won't let my neighbour lady know that it is beneath a *cat* to eat cicadas when I see her catching them with a net on a long stick from the tree next to her house and stuffing them into her mouth! -- Britta Sandpaper kisses, a cuddle and a purr. I have an alarm clock that's covered in fur! Check out pictures of Vino at: http://photos.yahoo.com/badwilson click on the Vino album |

When I was a kid, we had a Chihuahua that LOVED to catch cicadas, but he
would never eat them - he held them in his mouth while they buzzed away, but then he chomped and then dropped them, and then went after another. Seemed he liked the buzzing they did in his mouth. At first I was amazed to read this, but then I looked and saw who it was from - or rather, *where* it was from. What about Vino? Have you ever seen him eat one? I have a policy about food: it has to be *dead* before I'll eat it. Joyce |
