Default RB Punkers Kitty

Some of you who have been here a while will remember me-I don't post
very often. I wanted to share that my wonderful kitty Punkers passed
her
last day with me yesterday. She started having kidney problems about
6
mo ago, and over the months and weeks she lost weight but bore up
well
through food changes, meds, iv fluids...still had that "spark", that
interest in what's going on around her. Eyeballing the parakeets,
badgering the dog, trailing pools of sunlight around the house,
coming round
for some of my tuna sandwich....... But at last it seemed she
crossed
that imperceptible line and was worn out with the struggle even to
eat
or potty. So everyone came round to talk to her and I stayed with my
beautiful, sweet girl through the vet visit and beyond. I'm not a
prolific picture taker but I put together a couple on Flickr if anyone
is
interested, and if I managed to do it right. slight smile

Thanks guys. I've enjoyed being part of this group...in a
wallflower
sort of way. There are some really special folks here-fur and
otherwise-great stories, big hearts.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss, she was a very pretty cat. There's no
need to depart, though--all cat lovers are welcome here. And as I say
to all who must make this sad farewell, when the first stages of grief
are past, find yourself a new cat friend. Lots of cats would be happy
to come and live with you. No beloved cat can be replaced, but he or
she can have worthy successors.
