Default Snoopy had a nice dream

Snoopy was deeply asleep on my bed earlier, snoring loudly. She woke up,
looked around, then started purring deep rumbly purrs. I'm sure she must
have had a lovely dream. :-)

TuTu snores and sometimes grumbles in her sleep I wonder if she dreams
of the time she was lost and wandering on the busy state road. I also
remember one time when Princess (Siamese RB 16) jumped straight up from
sleep like she was ready to defend herself. Then she looked around in
disbelief that she was in her own bed. If they could only talk! MLB

Or she woke up, noted the comfy bed, the walls protecting her from the
monsters in the Out, the nearness of Meowmy and the fact that food
would be available when desired, and she just broke into feline
applause.

Awww.. very old lady kitties deserve lovely dreams. I wish I knew what it
was, maybe she dreamt she had a piece of fresh salmon for her dinner, or had
the warmth of a real fire playing on her body.
KFC used to love lying in front of the fire, toasting each side in turn. She
would purr and purr. I'm not sure central heating (nice as it must be)
would have had the same effect.

The only time Snoopy has seen a real fire was 10 years ago, my grandfather
was ill in hospital in North Wales. I stayed at his house with my mother for
a few months, until he sadly died, I took the cats with me. They loved the
real fire on the days it was lit and when it wasn't they looked up the
chimney to see where it had gone. Bittersweet memories.

That's what I suspect. Sometimes Persia fusses in her sleep. But then she
wakes up and sees me and starts purring as if to say, "Hey, I'm here with
you now. This is good."

Leila, unfortunately, had nightmares in which she's left all alone again
and has to go back to the shelter. She wakes up crying in distress and
has to have a lap *immediately*.

Part of it, I suspect, is because the Dowager went away one day and
didn't come back again, but part of it must also be because of the way
she was just dumped in front of the shelter to begin with.

Fortunately, the nightmares have become less frequent over the years she
has lived with me.

When I got home last night, Molly nearly tripped me she was so ready
to come inside with me. An hour later I settled down in front of
the (gas log) fire and she settled on the edge of the ottoman in
front of the fire so close I had to check to make sure she wasn't
toasting. Then she slept on my feet all night. It so much more
relaxing when she is in a domestic phase.
